Conversation Survival
How Long Can You Stay in a Real Chinese Conversation?
Practice Mandarin the way real conversations actually happen. Listen. Understand. Respond. Keep the conversation alive.
Conversation Survival turns Mandarin practice into a real-time conversational challenge. Instead of answering disconnected vocabulary questions, you enter an ongoing Mandarin conversation. The system speaks first. You listen, understand what was said, and respond appropriately. Get it right and the conversation continues. Lose the meaning and the conversation can end.
Stay in the conversation for as long as you can.
How Conversation Survival Works
1. Listen
Mandarin Match speaks to you naturally. The experience is audio-first, so you practice understanding spoken Mandarin instead of leaning on written Chinese.
2. Understand
Work out what was said. At beginner levels assistance is available — replay audio, show Pinyin, reveal a hint, see a model response, or review vocabulary. Assistance is tracked so you know whether you understood naturally.
3. Respond
Answer naturally. It isn't about repeating one memorized sentence — Mandarin Match evaluates whether you understood and produced an appropriate response.
4. Survive
Understand and respond well and the conversation continues. The next line follows naturally from the last, and you stay inside the same conversation.
5. Advance
Conversations get longer, faster, and more natural — from 你叫什么名字? to 你觉得中国哪个城市最适合生活?
