Test My Chinese

Find Out What You Really Know.

Go beyond lesson completion and discover your actual Mandarin ability.

Test My Chinese gives you an adaptive way to measure what you truly understand. Instead of counting completed lessons, Mandarin Match challenges the skills you actually need to understand and use Chinese.

What I know. What I'm learning. What I keep missing. What I should study next.

Adaptive Testing

Start at an appropriate level. Answer correctly and difficulty increases. Start missing and the system finds your limit. The goal isn't pass/fail — it's locating your real working level. HSK 1 through HSK 6, with beginner testing weighted toward listening, Pinyin and everyday communication rather than characters alone.

Randomized Tests

Fresh tests every time, drawn across vocabulary, listening, characters, sentences, topics, grammar, reading, comprehension, audio and meaning recognition — so you measure knowledge, not memorization of one test.

Knowledge Gap Detection

A score of 72% tells you nothing. Mandarin Match tells you why — which skills, which tones, which topics are holding you back, and exactly what to do about it.

What To Work On Next

  • You understand common spoken vocabulary well.
  • You're having more difficulty recognizing that same vocabulary as Chinese characters.
  • Tone 2 and Tone 3 distinctions need additional practice.
  • Your restaurant and family vocabulary are strong. Transportation vocabulary needs review.

This turns testing into learning.

Every missed question should be useful.
